In my 4 years of working as a developer I:
- Co-created a startup that was later acquired by a larger company
- had a gig as a tutor teaching mobile development
- worked as a freelancer with (mostly) good clients
- switched University from studying Business Informatics to Computer Science
..and some other things.
I have learned many fundamental aspects of software development, but never have I really sat down and digged deeper. I mainly scratched the surface of topics, I focused on the immediate results instead of the underlying principles. Software engineering as a field for me was always something I just needed to "do" instead of "understand". I saw colleagues and friends that knew less than me, but were able to get a relatively good job. I figured I can swoosh around the job market spend "important time" for my "actual interests". The worst thing is that I was right. I can just do that.
I want to change it though.
This blog is part of my attempt to change that. With the onset of large scale AI adoption in pretty much every industry known to man, I think I have a unique opportunity to relearn and delve deeper into my specific niche of (mobile) software development. This blog will be a rough outline of my results/findings/thoughts on the matter. It will also be a place where I will express my other interests.
Apart from Software Engineering, I don't want to limit myself to that. My "actual interests" suffered from the same malaise I have already mentioned. Do not expect a daily blog post, or more slop for the internet world. Some ideas might be rough, some ideas I will not be able to finish, all of them will be mine.
